Since the beginning of the DLL master's program, I have felt like the program is 'my jam.' From reading Carol Dweck's Mindset to designing a personal website or ePortfolio, I have been so excited! The program is everything that I thought it would be and more. As I come to find out, COVA + CSLE are the reason why I'm enjoying the program so much. COVA stands for choice, ownership, voice and authenticity. CSLE stands for creating significant learning environments. With both of them together, that is the reason I'm getting so much out of my master's program. I am learning to find my voice in my learning. I am learning to figure out what works best for me and do it in my own way. The program is set up to inspire and prepare me to lead organizational change
Not only have I found a new passion for learning and expressing what I've learned in my own authentic way, but I have found something that backs my passion for teaching this way as well.
I have implemented a blended learning type of classroom and have LOVED how students have become more active in their learning. Even though I have changed how students learn, I haven't changed how they show what they've learned. I have been missing this piece of COVA from my classroom.
'We no longer need to prepare our students for a standardized future we need to prepare our students to adapt to a constantly changing future with exciting opportunities that it will bring, '
