I grew up with a regular public school education. Most subjects didn't come easy for me. I really had to work for my grades. I struggled through my high school math classes and even went on to pursue my bachelors degree in Applied Mathematics. Most people assume that math was easy for me because of my degree but that is the complete opposite. Math was always very difficult for me, but I don't back down from a challenge. Just because it was hard, doesn't mean that I shouldn't have done it. I learned so much about myself through struggling. One of the biggest lessons was that I'm capable of more than I think I am. I wonder where I would be if I had gone an easier route.
to help other educators experience this too! Because of the amazing growth of the students, I want all educators to experience it as learners as well. We have been changing the way we educate 21st century learners, but not the people that are making the change. My final reflection takes the lessons learned from local and global aspects and applies them to my innovation plan of blending professional development. The above video is my plan on how we can implement a blended way of continually educating our teachers! Teachers need to be educated the same way we're educating our students in the 21st century. The literature review below explains why we need to be educating our teachers in a blended format using successes and failures around the globe as support. My innovation plan is written to my principal citing why blending professional development is important and how it can be done.
