Keeping the end in mind helps you stay focused, whatever the process may be. We as educators not only need to follow this, but also teach our students how to do this!
This take me to my next point. What is the end result? What are we working towards? Are you working towards students passing a state test or are you really working towards teaching students how to think and learn wherever they may be in life? No matter what the actual outcome is for you, backwards design is beneficial or even necessary! Here are some quick steps to help:
