Luckily, I was introduced to a growth mindset many years ago and it has thus become part of who I am. It was a pleasure re-reading Carol Dweck's Mindsetâ book and being able to disect it thoroughly. I also learned about a false growth mindset and that was eye-opening.
I will continue to grow my PLN but am looking at other communities to add since I'm ultimately interested in getting into the private sector.
Learning about networking and also a growth mindset helped me form my learning manifesto. This is my mantra as an educator and teacher. I want to encourage students to take a more active roll in their education and to use their creativity to convey their knowledge in their own original way. This brings me to another huge element, which is the COVA model. The COVA model stands for choice, ownership, voice and authenticity. This is the outline to help students connect their knowledge gained and how to showcase it. Through giving students choice, they are able to take ownership of their learning and outcomes and use their voice all in their own way. They are able to be original and authentic. I have learned so much and am so grateful for all that I have learned thus far. Excited to see what's next! Let the learning continue!
